Debate for Everyone (DFE)
DFE stands for debate for everyone. Our purpose in starting this initiative is to introduce competitive debating to students across East Java to make debating and the skills that we honed through debating more accessible to more young people in East Java
Members would develop a better understanding of the world’s pressing concerns by learning to express themselves eloquently and coherently in English and discussing a wide range of social, political, and economic issues.
Our mission
We want to make quality debate education accessible by connecting East Java to experienced coaches and sparring partners. Our vision is to see the development of debate in Jawa Timur, to foster both their English argumentative ability, communication skills
Planned events:
Spars
Participants of the debate club are going to hold simulation spars, overseen by qualified coaches from around the world, they are going to be given feedback and oral adjudication on what happened within the debate. They will also be given specific lessons and tips to cater for their own individual strengths and weaknesses within this session.
Lecture
Within this section, international coaches are going to provide students with the knowledge about things that would be related to debate. Note that this includes real-world information ranging from International relations to philosophy. This will greatly expand their world view and debating skills alike.
Complete in Nation comps
We will provide participants with the connections and ability to participate in debate competitions nation-wide, to hone their skills and gain exposure to the wider indonesian debate circuit.
Event
We will launch an online province-wide debate seminar for the introduction and launching of our debate club.
Here we will have international coaches introducing debate and marketing debate, saying its benefits etc, possibly having a mini lecture session/ demo debate to show their debating prowess and prove that debate actually works.

Conclusion
Debate is a great activity that will promote a better quality of education for students acros East Java because through debate, they are able to gain skills that are only attainable outside of their classrooms such as being able to be exposed to a wider variety of individuals that could spark meaningful connections between students across East Java, expand their literacy skills, and many more. We hope that with DFE, more students across East Java will be able to dive deeper into the world of competitive debating and equip themselves with valuable life skills to prepare them for university life.
